On the second day of the journey, you travel by scheduled boat to the Brissago Islands. An exclusive private guided tour of the botanical garden and a light lunch on the island provide the cultural highlight.

Via Ascona and Bellinzona, you return to Zurich in 1st class and then once again aboard the special train. An early dinner is served in the luxurious saloon carriages.

01Saturday, 5 September 2026Zurich – Gotthard panoramic route – Bellinzona – Locarno

We travel to Ticino by special train and, in the elegant dining carriages of the «Prestige Continental-Express», experience the romance of rail travel from a bygone era. Departure from Zurich HB is shortly after 9 am, with the route leading through the Limmat Valley, the Freiamt and via Arth-Goldau onto the legendary Gotthard panoramic route. As Alpine panoramas pass by, we enjoy a freshly prepared lunch on the way via Airolo to Bellinzona. We then continue by scheduled train in 1st class to Locarno. On arrival, we check in to our accommodation at Hotel Belvedere****Superior with lake views; the rest of the day is at leisure.

02Sunday, 6 September 2026Locarno – Brissago Islands – Ascona – Bellinzona – Zurich

After a leisurely breakfast, we take a walk to the boat landing stage in Locarno. We travel by scheduled boat to the Brissago Islands, where an exclusive private guided tour of the botanical garden awaits us. We then enjoy a light lunch directly on the island in a unique setting. After the return crossing by scheduled boat to Ascona, we travel by train in 1st class to Bellinzona, where we rejoin the «Prestige Continental-Express». On the return journey via the Gotthard panoramic route, an early dinner is served before we reach Zurich HB via Arth-Goldau shortly after 8 pm.
