Paris Belle Époque

Pullman carriages, AJECTA & Le Train Bleu

Introduction

Paris, AJECTA and Le Train Bleu: Belle Époque ambience, historic Pullman carriages and exclusive railway culture. Including a visit to the museum in Longueville, an aperitif in the «Côte d’Azur» and lunch in the legendary station restaurant.

Travel experience

This Paris journey combines railway history, Belle Époque flair and indulgent moments in particularly elegant style. At the heart of the programme are an exclusive visit to AJECTA in Longueville, an aperitif in the historic Pullman carriage «Côte d’Azur», and lunch at the world-famous «Le Train Bleu» in Gare de Lyon.

AJECTA in Longueville

The museum is opened exclusively for the group and offers fascinating insights into the world of historic steam locomotives and carriages of the former «Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits». The centrepiece of the site is the turntable with its 20-road locomotive shed dating from 1911.

Paris in style

After returning to Paris, guests stay at the distinguished Hotel Bedford **** in the heart of the city. A guided walk around Gare du Nord reveals a lively district shaped by railway history, international traffic and everyday Parisian culture.

Culinary highlight

At lunch on the second day of the journey, guests are welcomed to «Le Train Bleu», one of the finest restaurants in Paris. In a sumptuous Belle Époque setting of stucco, gold leaf and murals, the meal becomes one of the atmospheric highlights of the trip.

Programme

Day by day

01Monday, 16 November 2026Longueville, AJECTA and Paris

Excursion to Longueville to visit AJECTA, whose museum is opened exclusively for the group. Founded in 1968 in the Paris region, the organisation rescues historic steam locomotives from the scrapyard and took over the former locomotive depot at Longueville in 1971. The centrepiece of the site is a turntable with a 20-road locomotive shed dating from 1911; today, the museum comprises twelve locomotives as well as other historic rolling stock. We then enjoy an aperitif in the Pullman carriage «Côte d’Azur» N° 4155, followed by a fine lunch in dining car N° 4207. After returning to Paris, we check into our rooms at Hotel Bedford ****.

02Tuesday, 17 November 2026Gare du Nord and Le Train Bleu

In the morning, we take a guided walk through the district around Gare du Nord. Here we discover one of Paris’s liveliest and most diverse neighbourhoods, shaped by international rail traffic, historic station buildings, bustling streets and the typical flair of the French capital. For lunch, we visit «Le Train Bleu» in Gare de Lyon, one of the finest restaurants in Paris and also the world’s most famous station restaurant. In magnificent Belle Époque surroundings, with stucco, gold leaf and impressive murals, we experience a truly special setting. The rest of the day is at leisure for individual pursuits.

03Wednesday, 18 November 2026Farewell to Paris

After the final breakfast, it is sadly time to say goodbye today. We enjoy these last hours together once more before beginning our individual return journeys. The trip comes to an end with many wonderful memories to take home.
